Portrait | How To Use Backlighting To Your Advantage
© 2010 Wazari Wazir | Backlighting Portraiture Backlighting can be friend or foe to the photographers. Most photographers hate it when they have to deal with the backlighting, the metering can’t be trusted when dealing with the backlighting and usually PROGRAM MODE doesn’t work here, unless you make some customization with the PROGRAM MODE. Why Program Mode doesn’t work, simply put, the metering will think that there is a lot of light source out there and usually it will end up with underexposing your main subject in order for the camera to “average” the scene. A Photograph | Once Upon a Time at Kiram’s Village
© wazari Wazir | Kiram Village | Mesilau Kundasang I wish I could share all my pictures that was taken at Kiram’s Village Mesilau, it is really a beautiful place for a family outing or to spend their holiday. This is the best spot to get a backlighting shot at Kiram, there was a hill at the background that provide a great backdrop to show the rim light nicely. Without the hill, there will be an empty sky that will make the rim light disappear and blend together with the sky. That’s the tips for you when playing with backlighting. A Photograph | A Moment to Remember
I really enjoy watching them together, HaiQal and Aidid really fun to photograph when they are together, Aidid father, Azman Jumat is best friend of mine in Sabah, in fact his father did photograph my wedding day in Sabah. I hope my son and Aidid will become a very good friend now and also in the future.
