Lately there is misunderstanding among my friends of photographers about why PRESS photographers especially doesn’t use “Bounce Flash” doing their coverage of news related matter. Some of them think that shooting with a direct flash considered to be unprofessional, there will be harsh shadows if we use direct flash compared to bounce flash, to some extend they are right about those harsh shadows when using direct flash especially when the distance between the person that we photograph and the background, the wall for an example is close. Steve McCurry Masterclass Workshops
Mentioning Steve McCurry and most photographers will immediately refer him to the famous Afghan Girl name Sharbat Gula who grace the National Geographic Magazine cover in 1985. It is an iconic image until this day. Most people especially photographers knows about the story and about how after seventeen years Steve McCurry manage to trace her again. This is among my favorite picture of Istiklal Caddesi in Istanbul, there are a lot of peoples here, you really can get lost in time here, watching people doing their business along the street or simply watching people just enjoy walking here. Definitely this is a must visit place for any traveler or tourist who come and visit Istanbul apart from most common tourist attraction like Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya at Sultanahmet. People here really doesn’t bother so much of you taking picture of them, maybe most people here are so accustomed with photographers taking their picture, after all, this is among the most popular tourist attraction in Taksim…
