Baby’s Day Out | The Historical City Of Malacca
Last weekend we went to Malacca or Melaka the historic city state of Malaysia, just two hours drive from Kuala Lumpur the capital of Malaysia. It was just a short outing with my family because we have been here before together with my son last year. This time we decided to visit Malacca maritime Museum which is located inside the ship. The Maritime Museum along Jalan Quayside by the banks of the Malacca River is housed in the life-size replica of the Flor de la Mar, the Portuguese galleon which sank in the Malacca Harbour in the 16th century. Inside this museum are dioramas and intricately designed ship models. Apart from giving…

Portrait | Why I Love Texture?
Adding textures to a photograph is definitely is not a cup of coffee for everyone especially to those who don’t have much free times to play around with Photoshop. Maybe I was lucky to have so much free time to play around with Photoshop then but then again it is not really about whether you have the time or not, it is about whether you like it or not. Yesterday when I was young The taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue. I teased at life as if it were a foolish game, The way the evening breeze may tease a candle flame. The thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned I’d always built to last on weak and shifting sand. I lived by night and…

Portrait | How To Use Backlighting To Your Advantage
© 2010 Wazari Wazir | Backlighting Portraiture Backlighting can be friend or foe to the photographers. Most photographers hate it when they have to deal with the backlighting, the metering can’t be trusted when dealing with the backlighting and usually PROGRAM MODE doesn’t work here, unless you make some customization with the PROGRAM MODE. Why Program Mode doesn’t work, simply put, the metering will think that there is a lot of light source out there and usually it will end up with underexposing your main subject in order for the camera to “average” the scene. In this case, like my son picture above I use build in Spot Metering from…
