This is my first family trip using a mirrorless camera, which is Fujifilm X100T, after this maybe I won’t be traveling with my family with heavy DSLR, I like the simplicity of my Fujifilm camera. Yes, undoubtedly in term of great detail, I still think my older Canon 5D Mark II has plenty of details captured but then again what I’m getting from X100T is more than good enough, after all, it is just a family picture and good enough to be printed for a photobook and I don’t think I need A3 size photobook but then, I think, the quality of files that came through this little camera is more than sufficient enough to print with great details at A3 size.
Anyway any trip to Singapore won’t be completed if you are not visiting the Merlion, one of the many attraction here in Singapore, it is located around Marina Bay, just in front of Fullerton Hotel, you can either take MRT and get down at Esplanade of Raffles Place MRT Station and from that point, it is just within a walking distance.
We get down at Raffles Place MRT station coming from Bugis area. It was surrounded by modern tall building and for a few minutes we were lost in the concrete jungle, we can’t locate the Fullerton Hotel, after wandering here and there, finally we get it.
For those of you who like Cityscape, Urban Landscape photography, then Singapore has plenty to offer, they also have beautiful garden spread all over the place, in fact I can say that Singapore is a modern city with plenty of green area available, it is truly a garden city, well plan modern city.
Traveling with compact mini camera, which is not only lighter than DSLR makes this trip less tiring, and I can walk for a few hours without breaking my back while carrying my little daughter Arianna. This is just a short trip from Kuala Lumpur, we stayed here in Singapore for three night, coming here by train KTM Express Sinaran Selatan and get back home by plane. Maybe I need to bring my tripod for the next visit, so I can be with family in one single frame.
