Photojournalism | Malaysia’s King Opens First Meeting Of Second Session Of 13th Parliament
© 2014 Wazari Wazir | Malaysia’s King, The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, opened the first meeting of the second session of the 13th Parliament. In a break with tradition, the according of the Royal Honours was held at the Banquet Hall at Parliament House instead of the guard-of-honour at Parliament Square due to the haze. At 11 am, the bell was rung and the King was escorted into the Dewan Rakyat to deliver the royal address, 10 March, 2014.
This time around, me from Department of Information Malaysia, BERNAMA and Parliament photographer manage to secure our position here to captured the meeting from this angle, centre position. Actually at first we were not allowed to be here but later on we managed to keep our position and hopefully in the future, they still allowed photographers to be position at this angle.
On the technical side, the photographs above were taken with 70-200 mm f/2.8 and 24-70 mm f/2.8 (Wide Shot) respectively. Since I did not want to interrupt the meeting, all photographs were taken using available light, I mean without flash using ISO 1600. I was using Nikon D3 for this event.
