Children Portrait Photography | Baby, Baby Please Don’t Cry
© 2012 Wazari Wazir | My Son Raphael Crying
I wish I’ve this kind of a picture myself, I mean, a photograph of me crying out loud when I was like my son age, it must be fun to look at it now when I was having a baby myself but unfortunately, I don’t have any. Anyway family portrait photography does not necessarily about cute looking face, does not necessarily about beautiful smiling face, it is about capturing a moments in our time and I believe that this kind of a picture will be priceless in the future, not may people can remember how they look like when they cry during childhood, so a photograph will be a great documentation for that.
I don’t know about you guys, but normally my son does not cry for a longer period of time, usually he cried for just one minute or less than five minutes, in this photograph, my son cried not because he is hurt or something, it is because I’m taking away his little toy and that’s why he is crying and when I give back the toy, he start to smile again.
The most important thing to look for when photographing this kind of fleeting moments is to make sure that you are using a very fast shutter speed, otherwise the picture might get a little bit out of focus due to camera shakes. For this photograph I use shutter speeds of 1/250 with 50mm lens and shooting at aperture f/2.0. Even-though the photograph above is not technically super duper razor sharp but I get the moments and that’s the most important thing. A moment to remember. So whenever you go out playing with your kids, make sure you have a camera with you and never miss a moments.

Thank you. I love the easy tips that you’re sharing. I’m trying to learn as much techniques as I can-learning to take photos of my darling kids. I don’t want to look back and not have anything to remember about their younger years. They grow, oh! so fast. Thanks WW.
