Kampung Boy
I’ve nothing much to write here but just wanted to share with you a picture taken in 2008 at my Father-in-law house in Kuala Penyu Sabah, approximately two hours drive from Kota Kinabalu. My son can’t walk at the time this picture is taken, he can stand for a few minutes but will fall down once he took his first step, it was easier to take a photograph of him then than now. My Father-in-law village can be considered as backward, very few development here, most of the times we have to rely on the rain for our water supply and when it doesn’t rain, life can be tough.
For a photography purpose, this is a great place, rustic, charm and peaceful, I did not have many opportunity to do my photography things then because we are busy visiting friends and relatives because it was Eid-ulFitri then. I live and grown up here in Kuala Lumpur, a busy city night and day and it is good to have a “kampung” or a village to unwind and I think it is also good for my son development, at least he will have some place to escape from hustle and bustle of a city centre. I think in life we need to have a Balance…
