A Child Mind

“We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today”.
( Stacia Tauscher )
My Son HaiQal is getting harder to photograph these days, he got his own mind already, in fact it was too difficult to get him out of the house because he know that I will be taking his picture, instead he like to be in the house watching cartoon on the television. Lately he like to watch Mickey Mouse cartoon, keep on repeating playing that cartoon, he is the Boss in the house, I wish I have another television or maybe I should get another one. I’ve been taking picture of my son for more than two years already and I’m not giving up, I love taking picture of my son and will continue to do so.
To photograph a child like my son ages need a lot of patience, but the reward is you will get pure candid moment, a child like my son age, (he is two years old by the way), will never accept order, you can ask your child to do all kind of thing, but he will never follow your order and don’t expect them to standstill for a little longer than a minute, he will running here and there, happy to be free. Among the tricks that I often use to keep my son to stay for awhile, long enough to keep my focus is to give him something to play, something that will keep him occupied, something new, he will definitely getting bored playing with the same toy after awhile, just make it interesting, play with them for awhile, always carry a camera with you while you play with your child and when the moment is right, seize the moment, I mean freeze the moment with your camera, that is how I get the picture.
About the tone in the photograph, I still use the technique in my eBook and in fact it is the foundation of my editing, to those of you who have bought my eBook, please feel free to play around with the “value” that was given, that is the only way to make your editing a little bit different from others, you may combine it with the editing that you already know about, just mix and match like I always do. How do I got this look? After I do the editing according to the eBook, I try to reduce the saturation a bit to get this low contrast image, I don’t want the color to take away the mood or emotion in this picture and I think subtle color work best here. Let your eyes and your heart be the judge, actually your heart know better than your eyes.
