I used to have an assignment here at Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge, level 41 and at Observation Deck at Level 86. Previously it was free to visit Petronas Skybridge, local and tourist are not charged  to visit Skybridge but they can’t visit the Observation Deck at level 86. In the last few years visitors to Petronas Twin Towers Skybridge have to pay for a tickets but they are not only allowed to visit the Skybridge, they also will take you to level 89 Observation Deck, where you can have a chance to have a commanding view of Kuala Lumpur. Back then Observation Deck was only meant for VVIP especially for visiting foreign delegates, diplomates, president and prime minister’s alike. Now you can also have the exclusive view with a small price to pay.

The ticket counter were located at the concourse level of the Petronas Twin Towers, opened everyday, except on Monday. Even though it was open for public, the real problem getting here is that, you have to come early to secure your tickets, for this opportunity, my friends Shukur Jahar start queuing since 7AM in the morning, actually he came all the way from Sabah to visit Kuala Lumpur with his family and relatives, and since he was there, I ask his favour wether he can get a tickets for our family also, and thanks God, Alhamdulillah, he made it and I owe him a lot.

So my friend Shukur start queuing since 7Am and the ticket counter only open at 8:30AM and by the time he got there, the queue was quite long already and when he got the tickets, our turn to get into the skybridge is at 1:15PM. You cannot get into the skybridge just because you have the tickets, you will have to wait for your turn, those who came early, will get the opportunity to visit the skybridge earlier (morning view). Anyway at Petronas Twin Towers website, they stated that you can book your tickets in advance, maybe you can check it later.

You can only buy a tickets for five person, so if you came here with ten people, it is advisable you bring another person, so that you can get five tickets and the other person can get another five tickets, unless you hold a travel agents card, you can buy up to twenty tickets.

About photography, yes you can bring your camera at the Skybridge and Observation Deck, but you must leave your camera bag (if it was big) at the security counter. So make sure you get all the memory card, lenses and batteries with you.

You cannot stay at the Skybridge and Observation Deck for hours, visitors are only allowed to stay for fifteen minutes at each place, so in total you just have half and hour for both place. First you will be taken to the Skybridge at level 41 and then after fifteen minutes, you will be guide through level 86, the Observation Deck.

For this visit with my family, I really didn’t focus much on “photography” I mean I didn’t focus much on artistic stuff because my focus in on my family, since we didn’t have much time here, I need to have as much pictures of my family more than anything else, if I wanted to focus on the view of Kuala Lumpur, I will be coming here again because I stay here in Kuala Lumpur, so it not a problem for me, for those of you who have to travel far, make sure to take as much picture as possible and not to forget also to take your time to appreciate Kuala Lumpur view from above.

If you wanted to get a better view of Kuala Lumpur and the other tower, make sure you have UWA or Ultra Wide Angle lens, if you are using non full frame camera 10-20mm will be just fine and if you are using full frame camera, having 14-24mm will be a bonus but then it will be a great if you have telephoto lens, so that you can zoom in on anything that you find attractive from the observation deck.

This is not the first time me and my wife visiting skybridge, but this is the first time my wife visit the Observation Deck and the very first time for my kids visiting this higher place.
