Photography and Photoshop Editing | Before and After | It’s a Matter of Taste

KASHMIR 2012

Sometimes, when we are talking about editing, it’s a matter of taste. On the left side of the picture is a RAW file or SOOC, straight out of the camera, just convert it to JPEG and on the right after minor adjustment in Photoshop. I did clone out and clean out the image and enhance the colors. Yes there is a slight magenta, green and yellow caste in the edited image but like I said sometimes editing is a mater of taste and there is no point arguing or debating about taste.

Yes I know the edited version on the right is not suitable for Photojournalism purpose because I’ve clean up the image a bit and enhance the colors but this photograph is not meant for Photojournalism, it is for my very own viewing pleasure, if you like it, I will say thank you and if you don’t like it, I will say thank you also for taking your precious times visiting here.

The editing were done totally in Adobe Photoshop Software without any additional preset or plugs-in. Once you know some basic editing skills, the output or the final result will largely depend on your taste. Some of you may like to make it more dramatic, some of you may wanted to take the image further and do some kind of HDR editing, some of you may wanted to turn your image into something completely different, from enhancement to photo manipulation, it’s your picture, it’s your art and how far you wanted to go is up to you, that’s is my personal point of view.

Anyway the photograph above were taken at Dal Lake Srinagar, Kashmir in February 2012.
