Next morning on 3rd February, we decided to visit floating vegetable market at Dal Lake, actually we had already arrange with Mr Ashraf to pick up us at the shikara station around 6AM, but the night after Ashraf send us back, we had a little discussion with Mr Rauf, Swiss Hotel Manager, he told us not to go too early, it is not safe and furthermore it was very cold in the early morning and we follow his advise, so we only met Mr Ashraf around 7:30Am, it was bright already and he told us that he has been waiting for us since 5AM and he miss his morning prayer.
Winter is consider as low season for tourist here and in fact we are the only tourist at the floating vegetable market that morning, we don’t see any other tourist or travelers here or anyone with a camera at the floating vegetable market except us. Those vegetable seller doesn’t really bother with our presence, it’s look like business as usual but according to Ashraf, we should come in summer because this place will be much more crowded and there will be more photo opportunity.
We spend almost two hours here before going back to our hotel, most of the times, I didn’t take pictures but just enjoying the scene and the activity. It feels like a dream but it was not. This experience is something to remember and maybe we will come back here in summer.
